今天早上看到dreamhost给我的邮件, 据说有人使用相关的帐号进行恶意攻击, 并且dh对于我之前的十几次代购也做出惩罚.

我觉得这件事情难以理解, 有帐号攻击, dh为什么不是删除这个帐号, 而是将整个我的总帐号(3个)和通过我的checkout购买的帐号都停止了. 无法理解他们这样的行为. 下面是他们的邮件. 我会继续和他们进行交涉.

这次受影响的是0750计划中的空间, 金计划和铜计划不受影响.  凡是使用dreamhost的bottlecap和eggnog的用户都受影响.

Hello,

We have received quite a few complaints regarding outbound port scanning
and ssh dictionary attacks emanating from your webserver, all of which
trace back to your “test01″ user. In addition, we also found this user
running IRC bots/bouncers. All of this activity is a violation of
DreamHost’s Terms of Service.

In addition, we found that your Google Checkout payment method paid for
15 other accounts, including:

yzx, binsha1, fenxia1, wufen, weiche5, junwan2, tanlia, yinshu, dufen,
zhoda, lokkwa3, buyan, yj, binyou, yijun

A couple of these accounts have also been linked to abuse issues
including a paypal phishing page, running DoS scripts, and replacing
content taken down after a DMCA notification.

Per DreamHost’s Terms of Service, which you agreed to when signing up:

MATERIAL PRODUCTS

8. The Customer agrees to hold only one (1) active web hosting service
plan at any given time with DreamHost Web Hosting. Signing up for
multiple plans is grounds for termination of all plans, including the
first one, without warning.

Due to the blatant Terms of Service violations on this account and
several other linked accounts, as well as the violation of signing up at
least 15 accounts with the same payment method, we unfortunately have no
choice but to close all related accounts immediately.

Tomorrow night, January 11, 2008 at 10:00PM Pacific time, we need to perform two maintenance tasks:

1. Reboot a switch in which one of its processes if hung. It is currently passing traffic, but various Layer 3 duties it performs are in a degraded mode. We have otherwise worked around the issue, but we need to get that process un-stuck. We will be using this opportunity to upgrade the switch to the latest software version in hopes that this will not happen in the future, as this doesn’t add any time to the reload.

This should not affect general site performance, however some internal functions will be affected. If you notice sub-optimal ssh times, or other DNS related issues while logged in to our servers, they should resume in about 5 minutes when the switch comes back online.

2. Update the firmware on the disk shelves attached to a filer that crashed today. Speaking with various technicians, the current version of firmware could have been the cause of the outage in frisky today. This will cause a similar outage while the shelves reload. It should take around 5-minutes. If your data is hosted on this filer, you will not have access to it for those 5 minutes. No email or other data shall be lost, and the new firmware should make it more stable.

We’re sorry about the short notice of this window. If either of these two problems becomes worse overnight, we will go ahead and apply the fixes immediately.

worpdress 2.3已经推出1个多月了，现在开始升级bottlecap,eggnog上的wordpress到2.3版本。

如果发现blog不能正常打开，以下方法可能有用：

1 到/wp-admin/index.php 目录，升级数据库

2 更换模板

3 停止所有插件 ，升级插件并停用不兼容的插件。

bottlecap.dreamhost.com 上我代为安装的wordpress已经都升级到2.3了。

和大家的使用没有关系，但是panel也在维护行列中，可能会影响一些操作。

We do not expect any downtime of these services but there may be a few short outages while we shuffle things around. The purpose of this maintenance is to improve the performance and reliability of all of these services by moving them to bigger and better load balancers.
